I've handwoven 18-gauge rings into a Renaissance-style chain called Byzantine weave. The resulting chain is about 1/4-inch (6mm) wide. It is woven to your choice of length and clasp, and it's available in economical silver-plate or luxurious sterling silver.

The base price is for a 7-inch silver-plate chain, and each option is shown with the additional cost for that length and material.
